Classic: The Foundation Course
Learn classic lash extensions the right way, from your very first set. Classic: The Foundation Course combines two days of face-to-face training at the LR Academy in Stanmore Bay, Auckland, with six weeks of mentoring and ongoing support from founder Sheree Miller.

We teach the correct habits from the beginning, so you never have to unlearn poor technique later: isolating properly, attaching properly and protecting the natural lash from your very first set.
How the course works
Three stages. One pathway.
The course runs in three stages across 24 modules. Each stage builds on the last.

Pre-course theory
Before your workshop
Your manual is emailed before the course so you arrive with the theory done and spend your two days lashing.
- Eye anatomy and the natural lash growth cycle
- Contraindications: when not to lash
- Extensions, curls, diameters and lengths
- Adhesive science, temperature and humidity
- Hygiene, sanitation and ergonomics
- Check questions at the end of each chapter

Two-day workshop
Face-to-face with Sheree
Small groups of up to four students, or one-on-one, at the LR Academy. Three live models, each with a purpose.
- Day 1, Model 1: Learning. Guided isolation, pickup, placement and direction.
- Day 2, Model 2: Building consistency. Consultation, prep and a more independent set.
- Day 2, Model 3: Demonstrating competency. Your observed practical.

Post-course
Mentoring and certification

The FAST Framework™
Foundations, Accuracy, Systems and Time.
As you work through your case studies, you build speed and quality using the FAST Framework, Lash Religion's own efficiency system, taught only through the LR Academy. Get the basics right, do it correctly before quickly, work to repeatable systems, and let speed come from all three, never in place of them.
Our goal for you: get great within two hours per classic set, then get quicker. Speed is the result, not the goal.

2 days face-to-face training
Two full days in a small group of up to four students, or one-on-one private training. You'll work on three live models: learning the technique on Day 1, then building consistency and demonstrating competency on Day 2.
Start up lash kit
Your Student Training Kit ($499 value) has everything you need to train, complete your case studies and start practising straight away. We recommend upgrading to the Professional Toolbox for salon-ready tools from day one: choose it when you select your kit.
Classic manual
Our 150+ page Classic: The Foundation Course manual covers all 24 modules and is emailed before your course for your pre-course theory. It's your workbook during training and your reference long after it.
Classic lash certification
An Attendance Certificate at the end of the workshop. Your Completion Certificate follows once your photographed case studies meet our written pass standard for safety, technique and professionalism.

By the end of the course you'll be able to apply a safe, well-styled classic set on a live client, and explain every choice you made.
What you'll know
- The parts of the eye that matter, and why each needs protecting
- The lash growth cycle and how it affects retention and infills
- When you must not lash, must adapt, or must refer on
- The concepts behind classic, hybrid and volume sets (this course teaches classic application), and how to read a lash tray
- How adhesive cures, and how to tell an allergy from an irritation
What you'll be able to do
- Understand the full psychology behind an appointment and treatment
- Choose a safe diameter and length for each natural lash
- Isolate cleanly and place one extension to one natural lash
- Map and style a set to suit the eye shape
- Check for stickies, carry out infills and safe removals

Meet your trainer
Sheree Miller
Sheree started Lash Religion from her living room in 2017 and built it into an award-winning studio and training academy. She's still on the tools every week, so everything she teaches comes from the chair.
She's been in the industry long enough to have made the mistakes, seen a lot of techniques and products come and go, and learnt what actually works. That experience is what you get when you train here: a trainer, a business mentor and someone in your corner.
